The way they have captured the look and feel of the wild west is amazing! Those screenshots just ooze atmosphere. Also, i have to mention the horses, i dont think ive seen a game that has modelled horses to such detail, even in the videos they look so damn real, such as when they fall or throw the rider. Amazing stuff. Cant wait to explore off the beaten track!!!

It´s easy to the GTA Engine UP the detail and image quality when you don't need to render a city full of skyscrapers.

Yeah and it pays off afaik. Much more fun to explore a world that isnt populated by one generic skyscraper after another, thats what made GTA4 boring imo. Its what made GTA San Andreas a joy to explore - the fact you could leave the city and mess about in the countryside.

I just am not sure about this game. It's just that stink off GTA 4. The only thing from GTA 4 I can see is the lock-on aiming. Is that it? Because then I might be happy, since I loved Red Dead Revolver and don't want this game to disappoint.

I will buy it even if it gets pure 5,I will not miss this one fo nothing.

Most anticipated game for 2010 for me. The RAGE is looking amazing.

Yeah, that Rage engine is pretty impressive. And the euphoria physics engine is awesome too. I haven't seen anything like it on consoles so far. This game sets the graphical bench mark really high for opened world games as well as games that aren't opened world. The textures, lighting, and models are crazy.

The textures are horrific. People are impressed with this? The hat in the 2nd picture is a travesty.

I think the game looks great considering how big it's going to be. moaning about what a hat looks like is going a little over board.

Crazy physics yeah, but this game not looks as good as Just Cause 2, which also has one of the biggest maps in any game so far. :)

Both games are day 1 purchase for me. :)

It looks alot crisper than GTA and there's no doubt that when it's in motion it looks even better.

i think it's on-par with GTA4 as far as texture quality is concerned (maybe even a bit worse). but much like GTA4, it's the sheer diversity of the textures and the detail of the world that makes it stand out and look believable. and personally, i'd much prefer a game that was packed with details, then one that had super high res textures.

i wont be buying this tho. not a big enough fan of westerns, but it's definately one i want to rent. maybe even my most anticipated rental of 2010.

You're either joking/a troll, or have absolutely no clue about the limitations of the current gen of video game consoles. This game looks like it does very well with current tech. If you feel you can do better, feel free.

Why are the gamers of this generation so fucking shallow... I mean really, I could care less how high end graphically a game is, its about the GAMEPLAY. That's like watching a football game and complaining about how terrible their uniforms are -- you're missing the fucking point.

Why do console gamers worry about textures I do not understand. Graphics are good and I think overall it will be impressive game to look. Having said that I am not too interested in this game unless it turns out to be really great game.

The game is looking great. Will it be the most graphically impressive open-world game? Probably not. Assassin's Creed 2, Far Cry 2, Fallout 3....there are plenty of impressive-looking open-world games out there. But who cares?

As long as the game delivers a narrative of the same caliber as GTA4, and improves on that game's combat, it won't disappoint.

Yeah, because no one cared about graphics in previous generations :P- 8bit, 16bit, 32bit, blast processors, 32 layers of transparency, 6 layers of parallax, scaling sprites. Ring any bells? This generation is no different than the last generations.
Graphics are just more sophisticated so there is more to nit-pick. That being said, I agree with you generally. Gameplay is more important, but graphics go a loooonnng way to making a game more immersive/ enjoyable. Graphics have their place in the gaming discussion, but I can't see how one can bitch about the graphics in this game considering everything the engine does. It looks great over all, and that is more important than uber-high-rez textures...

not even a high tech pc could handle the scale of the game with only high res textures and how cares how 200 textures of 2000000 look? im not playing games to search low res textures but if some have fun to do this, feel free ;)
